We’re pleased to be celebrating the GCSE results with our Year 11 pupils who have provided some outstanding results. In what is a turbulent time for schools and pupils with significant changes to GCSE courses it’s pleasing that the pupils have secured impressive results demonstrating improvements on previous outcomes.
72% of pupils achieved a standard pass in the reformed English GCSE qualification and 70% of pupils achieved a standard pass in the reformed Maths GCSE qualification. 62% of our pupils also achieved 5 GCSE outcomes at grade C or above including at least a standard pass in both Maths and English.
97% of our pupils achieved at least a C grade in both Biology and Chemistry whilst 93% of pupils achieved at least a C grade in Physics.
There were other excellent performances within wider subject areas, for example Music and Music Technology achieved 100% A*-C grades whilst the proportion of pupils in both Art and Digital Art achieving at A*-C grades was 93%.
There were also notable individual student performances including;
-Kieran Hewitson – who achieved 8 A* grades, a grade 9 and a grade 8.
-Marian Unwin – who achieved five A* grades, a grade 9, two A grades, a grade 8, a grade 7 and a grade B.
We’d like to congratulate all of our Year 11 pupils on their achievements and wish them well for their future endeavours.
